Course Description

The course runs for one day, from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm.

Participants will gain an understanding of how trusts are used for estate planning purposes, the differences between grantor trusts vs. non-grantor trusts as well as revocable vs. irrevocable trusts. We will review key trust tax forms and schedules and learn how to calculate cash flow from a trust tax return, understand Distributable Net Income (“DNI”) as well as the difference between Trusts Principal and Trust Accounting Income (“TAI”), and evaluate the primary and secondary sources of repayment when lending to a trust.
